This evening marks the beginning of a series of community safety walkabouts with residents at the Mayor's Tower Renewal (MTR) pilot sites.

Throughout the fall of 2009, MTR collaborated with METRAC to conduct training to build the capacity of residents to identify and prevent violence in their neighbourhoods.  Dozens of people were trained and certified.

On this evening, youth and adults are putting their skills to the test in a safety walkabout of 2667 & 2677 Kipling Avenue.  The results will be compiled into a report and the recommendations will be presented to the property owner to discuss their implementation.
